Dr. Jennifer Rau obtained her veterinary
degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine
at Michigan State University in 1999. While in
school she was the President of the Student
Chapter of the American Association of Feline
Practitioners. Promptly after graduation Dr. Rau
moved to the Bay Area and entered into small
animal practice with a particular interest in cats.
Since graduation Dr. Rau has worked at two
feline only practices and greatly enjoys the
variety of cat personalities and lifestyles. She is
looking forward to joining Benicia Cat Clinic
as a practitioner and owner.
Dr. Rau has a particular fondness for geriatric
cats, cats with special behavior needs, dentistry,
preventative care, client education and the
human-cat bond. She also loves when clients
ask lots of questions. Dr. Rau is a member of the
American Association of Feline Practitioners,
American Veterinary Medical Association,
San Francisco Veterinary Medical Association,
California Veterinary Medical Association, Solano
County Veterinary Medical Association, and the
American Animal Hospital Association.
Dr. Rau shares her home with two cats, 'Tude and
Dona Lola, and a cat-like dog, Chewbacca.

Dr. John Brisbin established Benicia Cat
Clinic in 1992 with the goal of providing quality,
focused care to his feline patients. He found that
a quiet, relaxed, and dog-free environment helped
to minimize the level of stress in his patients.
Dr. Brisbin has been a practicing veterinarian in
both Solano and Contra Costa Counties since
graduation from U.C. Davis School of Veterinary
Medicine at Davis in 1979. He has resided in
Benicia with his family since graduation. He has
an undergraduate B.S. Degree in Zoology from
U.C. Davis and holds a Masters Degree in Public
Health from U.C. Berkeley, in addition to his
doctoral degree from U.C. Davis.
Dr. Brisbin is here on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Dr. Bette Brockman has been working at
Benicia Cat Clinic since 2004. She has many
years of experience in small animal medicine and
working with humane groups, and enjoys the
challenges of feline specialty practice. She is
impressed by the devotion of our clients to the
welfare of their feline companions.
Dr. Brockman did her undergraduate work at
the University of Michigan and graduated from
the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan
State University in 1975. She lives in Danville with
her husband Jim, their 5 adorable cats, 3 horses,
